Nick Bosa wears MAGA hat, photobombs Brock Purdy during ‘Sunday Night Football’ postgame

I had zero questions about who Bosa would be voting for, but he confirmed it to the world on Sunday Night Football.

The Cowboys lost to the Niners on Sunday Night Football, but the Niners took an even bigger L after the game when Nick Bosa decided to re-announce to the world that he supports Donald Trump’s re-election for President of the United States.

While teammate Brock Purdy was on the set being interviewed following the game, Bosa walked behind the set, looked into the camera, and pointed to his “Make America Great Again” hat.

Bosa was asked about the hat after leaving the field.

This is not brand new information that Bosa supports Trump. When the team drafted him, his social media history showed support for the former President, and he deleted a bunch of pro-Trump tweets before the draft because, as he said at the time, there was a chance he’d end up in San Francisco. Shortly after he was drafted, Trump tweeted congratulations to Bosa.

More recently, Bosa and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow were spotted gladhanding the former president at a UFC fight.

I’m just going to level with you: I’m done acting like supporting Donald Trump’s candidacy is anything but an exercise in ignorance and hate. The American people deserve the truth about Trump, and they’re not going to get that from Donald Trump.

Trump continually invokes hateful language toward everyone who is not a straight white man or who doesn’t agree with him. He’s been convicted of 34 felonies, with more to come. He’s an adjudicated sexual predator. He incited insurrection against our federal government. He tried to steal a free and fair election. Being impeached once is shameful enough, and this dude was impeached twice. If his lips are moving, he’s lying.

If that’s not enough for you, he’s threatened to use U.S. military force against people who don’t agree with him. Trump told republican senators to vote against a bill THEY HELPED WRITE to address the crisis at the border because a crisis was better for his chances of winning. He stole classified documents and stored some of them in a bathroom. He wants to make his rich buddies richer at our expense. He’s got the temperament of a very spoiled toddler, and I think we can all agree that very spoiled toddlers shouldn’t have access to nuclear codes.

It’s Bosa’s right to vote for whoever he thinks is the best candidate, and it’s his right to wear any hat he wants. Just like I supported Colin Kaepernick’s right to protest, I believe Bosa’s right to speak his mind is sacred even if I don’t agree with what he’s saying. He’s not alone in the football world — Le’Veon Bell and (unsurprisingly) Antonio Brown have both recently shared support for the former president as well. Texas Tech’s kicker Reese Burkhardt pulled a similar stunt over the weekend.

I haven’t seen many people insisting Bosa and these other guys “shut up and play” or “stick to sports.” It’s fascinating how that only seems to come up when the athlete making a public statement doesn’t agree with Nick Bosa’s favorite presidential candidate’s worldview.
