Aaron Rodgers is calling cayenne pepper in water his ‘fountain of youth’

Whatever works, I guess.

Aaron Rodgers never met an alternative medicine or cooky cure he didn’t like, and now he’s found a new one. Rodgers is crediting a mixture of cayenne pepper and water as his “fountain of youth,” which he thinks has helped heal knee, hamstring, and ankle issues.

Rodgers says he’s now feeling great since starting a regimen of the elixir in Week 8, and he got the idea from punter Thomas Morstead.

“T-Mo gave me a little fountain of youth,” he said of Morstead. “He said he’s been taking it for a while — all legal, of course. ... [Maybe] that’s why I’ve been feeling a little bit better.”

In the pantheon of wild Rodgers cures this might be the least strange. At least it’s know that capsaicin found in peppers is good for stimulating nerves in the stomach and can also have some effects on circulation. Is terms of helping to fix muscular issues, tendons and strains — not so much.

But hey, if it’s working for Aaron I guess it’s okay? Then you remember the Jets have lost five straight and maybe it’s not okay.
