Week 10 NFL Survivor pool strategy with safe, value, trap picks

It’s time to figure out your Survivor picks for the 2024 season. We’ll break down safe, value, and trap picks heading into Week 10.

November is fully upon us and the playoff race is kicking into high gear. The Chiefs remain undefeated while the Lions and Commanders appear to be the top two teams in the NFC.

Last week’s biggest upset the Saints lose to the Panthers. While New Orleans has been trending away from the playoff race, the upset did impact Survivor pools. If you’re still hanging around in your knock-out pool, that result likely cleared away another solid chunk of teams. I picked the Saints as one of my value teams last week, but a mediocre team going on the road against a divisional opponent was probably better suited as a trap pick.

But now, Week 10 is upon us. The Browns, Pacers, Raiders, and Seahawks are all on bye, leaving us with 28 other teams to choose from this week in Survivor. I’ve got my full picks below. There are plenty of options to consider and every week this season we’ll be breaking down the safest picks, the best value picks, and the potential trap picks.

Safest picks

Chargers over Titans

This is safe rather than value because it’s going to be the most popular pick in a lot of leagues. Normally I’d say stay away from the crowd, but there’s not a lot of value to be found out there.

Best value picks

Bears over Patriots

This is a tough one because the Bears were a mess last week. Everybody is down on the team and Matt Eberflus in particular, but there’s some buy low value here. This is a risky play because the Bears are inconsistent, but the Patriots are the clear worse team. Chargers is a much safer play, but if you want to roll the dice, go with the Bears.

Trap picks

Falcons over Saints

The Saints just dealt away Marshon Lattimore a day after firing head coach Dennis Allen. The conventional wisdom suggests they’ll get pummeled by the Falcons. Atlanta is more likely than not going to handle its business, but they’re just inconsistent enough that an upset here should surprise nobody.
