Eagles fans mercilessly mocked the viral Commanders fan who bragged about taking over the Hard Rock

NOBODY brags about taking over the Hard Rock without consequences.

It’s great when fans show their undying loyalty by traveling to a hostile city to watch their team play. It’s less great when you brag about taking over a restaurant literally nobody in said city cares about, then make sure it’s posted on social media.

Commanders fans who traveled to Philadelphia went viral on Saturday night when they posted a stirring speech about coming into the Eagles’ home turf and dominating the hallowed ground of the Hard Rock Cafe in Philadelphia, which is notable because we all just learned that Philadelphia has a Hard Rock Cafe.

“What we wanted to do tonight, we did. We took over this place! This entire restaurant, we took this place over.”

The approximately 60-strong celebrated their dominance of the Hard Rock with zeal. Hooting, hollering, relishing in the conquering of a chain restaurant no local actually cares about. It was a moral victory though, one that fans hopes preceded a real victory — but that never came.

Instead the exact same fan who gave his rousing speech about the Hard Rock was seen silently leaving The Linc early when the Commanders got obliterated. Naturally there were Eagles fans who recognized the guy from the viral video of the Hard Rock takeover and let him have it.

“Hey, hey ... this is the guy who took over the Hard Rock. Hey! Congrats on the Hard Rock! Great takeover last night! Great job at the Hard Rock Cafe, buddy!”

A really underrated element to this follow up video is the friend of the filmer who can be heard saying “Hey, Hard Rock slaps... Hard Rock slaps,” defending the venue from slander.

In case you’re wondering how Eagles fans were celebrating before the game while Commanders took over the Hard Rock, naturally they were on SEPTA having a pig picking out of a grocery cart on a subway train — as one does.

The Commanders getting good is the best thing to happen to this burgeoning rivalry. The Giants suck, the Cowboys are in decline — so at the very least we know the NFC East will be in hostile hands, as it should be.
