Game updates: The Eagles won their game, but that didn’t impact anything. The more important results happened right after that.

The Green Bay Packers nailed a 55-yard field goal with under a minute left, but they allowed a last-second field goal from the Bears. The means the Packers will play at Philadelphia in the wild card round.

Green Bay and Philadelphia opened the season in Week 1 in Brazil.

The NFL wraps up its 2024-25 regular season on Sunday and the Philadelphia Eagles will host the New York Giants in the early window. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET and the Eagles entered the week a field goal favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook. The team is expected to be without quarterback Jalen Hurts, who also missed the team’s Week 17 win over the Dallas Cowboys due to a concussion.

Eagles playoff picture

Philly is 13-3 and has clinched the NFC East title. They are currently in the No. 2 seed and have locked up that position in the NFC playoff bracket. They are the only team in the NFC to secure a specific seed in the playoffs regardless of their Week 18 result.

The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings are both 14-2 and will face off on Sunday Night Football with the NFC North title on the line. The winner will be 15-2 and claim the No. 1 seed in the conference, while the loser will be 13-3 and claim the No. 5 seed. The Los Angeles Rams are 10-6 and having clinched the NFC West title will be either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-7) and Atlanta Falcons (8-8) are competing for the NFC South title. The winner of the title will end up as either the No. 4 or No. 3 seed depending on who wins and potentially the Rams result.

That means the Eagles are mathematically set at No. 2. They’ll face the No. 7 seed in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. The Green Bay Packers are 11-5 and currently hold that spot, but they’re tied with the Washington Commanders. The Commanders have secured the conference record tiebreaker if they remain tied after Week 18,
