The Philadelphia Eagles are one quarter away from ending the Kansas City Chiefs bid at a threepeat. The Eagles finished the third quarter of Super Bowl 59 with a 34-6 lead and the Chiefs are showing few signs of life. But if you’re playing Super Bowl squares and had the square of the Eagles 4 and Chiefs 6, congrats on winning some prize money.
Super Bowl squares recap: Third quarter results for Eagles-Chiefs in Super Bowl 59
It’s time for Super Bowl squares results. We’ve got the first quarter numbers for Super Bowl 59.

The third quarter was looking like it would be a light one for scoring, but it got busy late. Philly dominated the quarter with a 6:42 drive that ended with a field goal to give them a 27-0 lead. After a second stop of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense, Philly decided to go for the jugular. After forcing the Chiefs to turn the ball over on downs, the expectation was the Eagles would run some clock. Instead, on 1st and 10, DeVonta Smith went deep and hauled in a 46-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts.
The Chiefs added a touchdown in the final minute of the quarter, but failed to convert the two-point attempt.
Historically, 3 and 7 has been the most common combination of numbers at the end of the third quarter. Looking at the last two Chiefs Super Bowls, last year 0 and 3 hit for a second consecutive quarter as the Chiefs led 13-10 after the third quarter. The year prior, the Eagles led 27-21 (so 7 for the Eagles and 1 for the Chiefs).
