Watch Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle’s unforgettable Super Bowl performance of ‘America the Beautiful’

WOW!

Super Bowl LIV in New Orleans is fully embracing the culture of one of the greatest musical cities on earth, and the performance of America the Beautiful by Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle is one of the best we’ve ever seen.

Putting a jazz spin on the classic song, the two New Orleans natives fully embraced the spirit of the song while also embracing the host city. Normally a singer in his own right, Shorty simply played the trombone with backing from his band members, leaving Daigle to handle the singing duties. The two of them complemented each other perfectly and gave us an unforgettable performance.

Normally America the Beautiful is a somewhat overlooked pre-game performance, but this year it was put front-and-center as part of an incredible musical slate that fully showcased why the city of New Orleans is so special.

Can we just have the Super Bowl in New Orleans every year? Because this rules.
