Nathan Lawton had to survive just under a minute and a half to win his first NHL start and earn Long Island consecutive victories. That was before Martin Hanzal equalized for the Phoenix Coyotes, proving that it would be too good to be true. With no further scoring, a shootout developed and Lawton was bested by all three shooters he took on. Sensing an inexperienced goaltender before him, Kyle Turris ended the affair in a creative fashion.
