Report: Marco Sturm Trade ‘Dead As Of Now’

ESPN reported late Thursday afternoon that the deal between Boston and Los Angeles over forward Marco Sturm has fallen apart. The details:

It was reported earlier Thursday that Sturm was dealt to the Los Angeles Kings, but sources on both teams told ESPN.com’s Pierre LeBrun on Thursday evening that there is “no deal.”

The deal had been contingent on Sturm passing a physical, a Kings source told ESPNLosAngeles.com, but it was not immediately clear whether his injury was a factor.

LeBrun also reported that the two sides are willing to continue working to get the deal done, but as of now, there’s nothing set in stone. For more, check out our Bruins blog, Stanley Cup of Chowder, as well as our Kings blog, Jewels From The Crown.
