The Flyers, The Sharks And The Closest Non-Goal In NHL History

Overtime probably shouldn’t have even happened on Wednesday night in Philadelphia. After all, the Flyers were up 4-1 with something like 12 minutes left to play in the third period. They were coasting. Then, San Jose scored.

↵And they scored again. And then one more time. 4-4 game, we’re going to overtime. With time ticking down in OT, this happened.

↵A hair away from victory. If only the clock operator was just a blip quicker on the trigger during a stoppage in the overtime period. But, when you blow a three-goal third period lead, I guess you don’t deserve to win. The Sharks won in the shootout.
