Alex Ovechkin was just minding his own business. You know, taking a little rest at the end of the bench during the third period of last night's 1-0 Capitals' loss to Atlanta. That is, until Brooks Laich and his stick came along.

↵It’s a little difficult to see in the video, but yes, as Laich positions himself on the bench, his stick hits No. 8 in the face. That clearly didn’t feel all that great, and his grimacing there was a cause for concern for Caps fans.
↵Luckily, he’s alright.
↵↵If you saw the following clip from last night’s game, or caught it afterward, do not worry. Although Alex Ovechkin was inadvertently clipped in the face by a teammate’s stick, he was fine after the game.
