Pittsburgh Penguins' defenseman Zbynek Michalek will miss four-to-six weeks with a broken finger suffered Saturday against the New Jersey Devils, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Michalek left the game in the third period with what at the time looked like an apparent leg injury. Ben Lovejoy will take over Michalek's spot in the lineup when the Pens head to Uniondale to take on the New York Islanders on Tuesday. Lovejoy was a healthy scratch against the Devils.

Penguins defenseman Zbynek Michalek will miss four-to-six weeks with a broken finger suffered Saturday against the Devils. Ben Lovejoy will join the Pens lineup in Michalek’s stead.
For now, head coach Dan Bylsma seems content to roll with only six defenders on the roster, rather than call anyone up from the team’s AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre. Michalek was on pace for 24 points this season, but has had some struggles with a team worst minus-5 rating through 10 games. He is still the team leader in blocked shots with 17, however, and is considered one of the team’s best penalty killers.
