Penguins Vs. Islanders Preview: Game Time, TV Coverage And More

The Penguins and Islanders start a home-and-home on Tuesday night. Last season, these teams met for one of the rowdiest games in recent memory.

Don’t expect a another rumble like when the Penguins and Islanders met last February, a game in which featured a goalie fight and 346 penalty minutes were doled out. Early in the 2011 NHL Season, Pittsburgh and New York must be more concerned with getting a result on the ice than settling an old score.

The Penguins enter the first leg of this mid-week home-and-home riding a three-game win streak. Meanwhile, the Islanders cooled off last week with back-to-back losses on a short road trip to Florida.

Pittsburgh is off to a hot start this season, despite injuries to its stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Malkin has missed the last five games with injury, but has not been officially ruled out for Tuesday night.

The Islanders are attempting to pull themselves out of the Atlantic Division cellar after four straight seasons without a playoff appearance. Center John Tavares has led New York so far this season.

Game Time: 7 p.m. ET
TV Coverage: MSG+ (New York), Root Sports (Pittsburgh)
Radio: 105.9 FM (Pittsburgh) | WRHU (New York)
Finally, just because the Penguins and Islanders have put last season’s fight behind us, doesn’t mean we can’t watch it again. Goalie fight!
