An interview with Sidney Crosby on Monday sparked speculation that the star center was preparing for a return against the Dallas Stars on Friday. Head coach Dan Bylsma quashed that speculation Thursday, taking some of the luster off of what should still be an exciting matchup between two of the league's best.
Stars Vs. Penguins Preview: Game Time, TV Coverage And More
Sidney Crosby won’t be on the ice, but there should still be plenty of intrigue for Friday’s matchup between two of the league’s best teams. The Penguins play host to a hot, upstart Dallas Stars franchise.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have gotten used to playing without their captain since he left the lineup halfway through last season. The team is off to a 9-3-3 start thanks in large part to the play of Marc-Andre Fleury in net. Fleury comes into Friday's game with a 1.44 goals-against average in his last six games.
The Stars were the league's first team to reach double-digit wins this season, and are among the league leaders in both goals goals scored and goals allowed. Jamie Benn, a fifth-round pick in 2007, has been instrumental in the Stars' turnaround from a team that missed the playoffs last season. He leads the team with 18 total points, including 13 assists.
