The Washington Capitals and the New Jersey Devils meet on Friday as two teams heading in opposite directions. The Devils (7-5-1) are looking for their fourth straight win. The Caps (9-4-0) are on the precipice of a third straight loss.

The Devils' run has come despite Ilya Kovalchuk's absence from the lineup the past two games with a lower-body injury. He isn't expected to return Friday, leaving the wing shorthanded once again against a Caps squad that can pour on goals in a hurry. Rookie center Adam Henrique will need to continue to be an offensive force, having netted a goal in each of the Devils' three consecutive wins.

Washington is second the league netting 3.8 goals per game. Their problems lay on the defensive end, where Mike Green's absence has been critical. The Caps went 7-0 with Green in the lineup, allowing just 2.0 goals per game. Since, the team is 2-4-0 allowing giving up nearly five goals per outing.

Game Time: 7:00 p.m. ET
TV Coverage: CSNB (Washington D.C.), MSG+ (New Jersey), NHL Net (National)
Radio: AM 1500 (D.C.), 660 AM (New Jersey)
