The New York Islanders are pretty bad (5-9-3 record this season) and the Pittsburgh Penguins are pretty good (11-6-3). Far more fascinating than whatever the outcome of Monday night's game may be will be watching Sidney Crosby take to the ice for the first time since January after suffering multiple concussions.
Islanders Vs. Penguins Preview: Game Time, TV Coverage For Sidney Crosby’s Return
Sidney Crosby will make his first appearance with the Penguins since suffering multiple concussion last January. The Islanders will look to regroup from losses in five of their last six games.
The anxiousness for Crosby’s return reached a fevered pitch after it was announced back in October that the start had been cleared for contact. Practically every Pens game since has been a “will-he, won’t-he” affair, while the coaching staff took its time before putting their superstar back in the spotlight.
Meanwhile, the Penguins kept winning, thanks to the likes of James Neal, Kris Letang, Jordan Staal and Evgeni Malkin on the offensive end, and Marc-Andre Fleury in net. The Islanders should struggle even if Crosby is less than 100 percent. The Isles are averaging just 2.1 goals per game while giving up 3.2, ranking 29th and 26th in the league, respectively.
Location: CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Game Time: Monday, Nov. 21 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
TV Coverage: MSG (New York), ROOT Sports (Pittsburgh)
