The Calgary Flames defeated the Minnesota Wild 5-1 Sunday to snap a three-game losing streak and end a four-game road trip on a high note. Mark Giordano, Lee Stempniak, T.J. Brodie and Alex Tanguay scored the first four goals to give the Flames a comfortable lead, while captain Jarome Iginla capped the scoring with a deflection goal midway through the third period.

The Flames’ victory Sunday was an important one as the current Northwest cellar dwellers defeated the division leaders, putting them on notice. Perhaps the Wild were just trying to tell the Flames to cool off?
