Penguins Vs. Sharks Preview: Game Time, TV Coverage And More
The San Jose Sharks host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night.
The Sharks won the last meeting, 3-2, in Pittsburgh, with Patrick Marleau scoring a pair of a goals, including the winner in overtime. Pittsburgh is 0-8-1 in San Jose since 1997.
There had been some talk that the Penguins would get center Sidney Crosby, who has been out since January with a concussion, back for tonight's game, but the 2006-07 will not play in either of the team's game in California this week.
”I’ve got to go through more contact than I have so far,” Crosby said on Wednesday via NHL.com. “It’s not just one day or one hit. I need to go consistently through a few days of contact and dealing with it well. That will be the biggest step and the biggest test. We’ll see how it goes, but so far everything is going smoothly. I hope it keeps up.”
James Neal (9-2-11) and Jordan Staal (6-3-9) pace the Penguins attack, while Evgeny Malkin has seven points in six games this season, including a goal and an assist in last Saturday's night loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Sharks right wing Joe Pavelski (8-5-13) is on a six-game point streak and has six of his eight goals on the season during that span.
