VIDEO: Daniel Paille Injured After Taking Puck To The Face

We've made the argument many times in favor of visors, but what happened to Daniel Paille on Monday night proves that nothing is really foolproof. Paille wears a visor, and it didn't stop a Steve Staios slap shot from hitting him square in the face.

Warning, this video and the photos below are not for the queasy.

Paille was able to get to the locker room on his own power, but we found out after the game that he broke his nose on the play. That’s not even close to surprising given the bloody sight that was Paille’s helmet after the incident.

Who knows? Maybe the visor did provide some protection. It’s tough to tell. In any event, it’s good to know that there’s nothing terribly serious that Paille has to deal with in the aftermath here, despite how horrible things look. We don’t know when he’ll be back in the lineup, and his nose might look a little different next time we see him, but thankfully it doesn’t appear to be anything career-threatening.
