Chris Pronger is out for the season after being diagnosed with severe post-concussion syndrome.
Philadelphia Flyers Defenseman Chris Pronger Reportedly ‘Improving’
The 38-year-old visited a doctor this week for evaluation. The signs were positive, but Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren cautioned that Pronger is still not healthy enough to play, according to philly.com:
Pronger has played 18 seasons in the NHL. His last full season came in 2009-10, when he recorded 55 points and 10 goals.

Suffering from post-concussion syndrome, the 37-year-old still experiences headaches stemming from the incident and will not be taking the ice when he returns to Voorhees, according to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren.
Pronger signed a seven-year contract extension with the Flyers in 2009 and was named the 18th captain in franchise history in 2011. In 13 games as captain last season, Pronger registered one goal and 11 assists for 12 points.
