Eastern Conference leaders Philadelphia Flyers and Tampa Bay Lightning face off on Tuesday night in Tampa for the final time this season.
Flyers Vs. Lightning Score: Five Second Period Goals Lead To 3-3 Tie After Two Periods
After a one goal first period, the Flyers and Lightning appeared to be heading to a defensive battle in Tampa. That’s not the case anymore with a total of five goals scored in the second period to lead to a 3-3 tie at the second intermission.
Dominic Moore got the scoring started in the first minute of the second period to tie the game at one for the Lightning. Scott Hartnell gave the Flyers the lead back at the 7:33 mark of the second on the power play after a Pavel Kubina holding penalty. Darroll Powe gave the Flyers a 3-1 lead on a penalty shot after he was hooked by Steven Stamkos on a shorthanded breakaway. The Lightning scored the next two goals, one from Vincent LeCavalier and the other from Teddy Purcell to tie the game at three.
