PHOTO: Maple Leafs Forward Darryl Boyce Loses His Nose, Wants To Play Tomorrow

In the final minute of the second period of last night's 3-0 Toronto win over Carolina, forward Darryl Boyce went into the corner with Joe Corvo of the Hurricanes. Boyce went to check Corvo, who had the puck, when the Hurricane turned on a dime and avoided the check.

Boyce went flying into the glass, where he hit his face right on one of the little photographer’s holes.

He didn’t return to the game and once you see the results, you’ll understand why. WARNING: Don’t click if the thought of the headline on this story makes you sick to your stomach.

As Boyce said on Twitter, “My face hurts but I don’t know why...”

James Mirtle, former SB Nation hockey guru and current Leafs beat reporter also Tweeted about Boyce’s misfortune, saying that “He won’t play tomorrow but could return Monday.”

Returning four days after losing your nose is “he-must-be-a-hockey-player” enough, you’d think, but apparently it’s not good enough for Boyce. He responded by saying:

who said he won’t play tomorrow

Gotta love it. Hockey player, man.
