As the entire hockey world debates Zdeno Chara’s hit on Max Pacioretty from Tuesday night, the focus still remains on the health of the injured Montreal Canadien. His agent, Alec Schall, was on Montreal’s CJAD 800 radio on Wednesday morning, where he gave an update on Pacioretty’s condition.
Max Pacioretty Suffered Concussion On Zdeno Chara Hit, Outlook ‘Optimistic’ Says Agent
“The basic premise of the conversation is that he’s going to be okay,” Schall said, referencing a talk he had with Pacioretty’s parents on Tuesday night. “The key tests they did at the hospital all turned out positive or negative and he does not have anything broken or there’s no [inaudible] from his brain. They thought he was going to be okay and that he had a concussion.”
“The severity of the concussion we really can’t tell until later.”
Schall also spoke with the doctors at the hospital.
“The only indication they gave to me was that he was going to spend the night, but that was more precautionary than anything,” he said. “They’re going to take a look at him today and decide. I guess the implication was that he’ll probably get out of the hospital today barring something turning for the worse. But they seemed pretty optimistic last night.”
