Thus far in the Sharks and Kings playoff series, there have been a total of 25 goals scored between the two teams. 16 of those goals have come in the second period. The two teams combined for five total goals which led to a Sharks 3-2 lead after forty minutes.
Sharks Vs. Kings, Game 4: Three San Jose Second Period Goals Gives Them 3-2 Lead
The Sharks got the scoring started with two goals within two minutes of each other while skating four on four. Ryan Clowe scored at the 3:58 mark of the second and then Jason Demers scored 1:14 later to give the Sharks a 2-0 lead. Ryan Clowe’s second goal of the game, on the powerplay, ultimately gives the Sharks a 3-0 lead over the Kings.
The Kings took a timeout to compose themselves and probably discuss that they were in the same situation the Sharks are in during Game 3. Brad Richardson scored 1:30 after that timeout to give the Kings their first goal of the game. Justin Williams scored five minutes later to bring the Sharks lead down to one goal.
The Kings outshot the Sharks 17-10 in the second period and are outshooting the Sharks 26-23 overall in the game. If any of the other games in this series have taught us anything though, its that this game is far from over.
