They got off to a great start, leading 3-1 after the first period and 4-3 after the second. However the Flyers fought back and sent the game into overtime, tied 4-4.
4:43 into overtime, Philly's Kris Versteeg grabbed his own rebound and flipped the puck at the Sabres net, where it bounced it off several players. The puck landed in the crease and Ville Leino shoved it in, lifting the Flyers to a 5-4 victory and sending their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series to a Game 7.
With the win, the Flyers became the first team in the series to win after giving up the game-opening goal. The game-winning goal was also the first time all game they led.
