This second round series between the Nashville Predators and the Vancouver Canucks will likely come down to the goalie who plays a better game. Both the Canucks' Roberto Luongo and the Predators' Pekka Rinne are finalists for the Vezina Trophy in 2011, and both played like it in the first period, leading to a scoreless tie after the first period.
Predators Vs. Canucks Score: Roberto Luongo, Pekka Rinne Keep Game Scoreless After 1st Period
Luongo is coming off a series with the Chicago Blackhawks in which he got pulled in favor of Corey Schneider for a couple of games. Schneider then went down with an injury in Game 6. He only faced five shots from the Predators and stopped all of them.
The Canucks were able to fire off 16 shots on Pekka Rinne, but he was a brick wall in front of the net.
The Predators will have a power play for 90 seconds at the start of the second period, as Christian Ehrhoff was called for a hooking penalty.
