The Vancouver Canucks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second period and were poised take home their second-straight win over the Nashville Predators as they clung to the one-goal lead late in the third. But all that changed in an instant as Ryan Suter beat Roberto Luongo with just over a minute to go to tie the game at one and force overtime.
Predators Vs. Canucks Score: Ryan Suter Forces Overtime With Late Goal
Alex Burrows put the Canucks in front two minutes into the second period with a shorthanded goal. Ryan Kesler was credited with the assist. Vancouver went down a man just 1:37 into the period as Christian Ehrhoff was called for hooking. But 30 seconds later, the Canucks stunned the Predators as Burrows found the back of the net.
In a rush to equalize with time winding down in the third, Suter was able to punch back, leveling the score at one and setting up overtime with his game-tying goal. Martin Erat and Joel Ward were credited with the assists.
Nashville is trying to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole and was given new life with Suter’s goal. We’re headed to overtime in Vancouver, tied at one goal apiece.
