The Vancouver Canucks had played two very solid games in Vancouver as they only gave up five goals to the San Jose Sharks with three of those goals coming on the powerplay. In Game 3, the Canucks allowed three powerplay goals alone on their way to a 4-3 loss in San Jose.
Canucks Vs. Sharks, Game 3: Vancouver’s Lack Of Discipline Costs Vancouver Game
The Canucks took a total of 32 penalty minutes in the game and gave the Sharks nine powerplays in the game. Coming into the game, the Sharks were perfect on the powerplay in this series, converting on all three of their chances. San Jose continued where they left off as well, converting their first two powerplay chances on route to a 3 for 10 night with the man advantage.
The Sharks offense has been non-existant when it came to playing even strength and the majority of the Sharks goals in Game 3 came on the power play as well. The Canucks have limited the Sharks to just three even strength goals in three games and have done a good job of limiting those chances. They have yet to figure out how to stop the Sharks when they are on the power play consistently and taking 10 penalties in a game doesn’t help that situation either.
