New York Islanders Trade Bruno Gervais To Tampa Bay

The New York Islanders have traded the restricted free agent rights to Bruno Gervais to the Tampa Bay Lightning for future considerations. Gervais had six assists in 53 games with the Islanders last season and was a -14 during that stretch. Gervais has played for the Islanders for six seasons and is a career -60 during that stretch, most like attributable to some bad Islanders teams he has played on.

Gervais was making $740,833 last season and could be in store for a slight increase in salary. He should make the Tampa lineup when the 2011 season starts if the Lightning and Gervais can agree to a deal.

For more information on this deal, check out our Islanders blog, Lighthouse Hockey, and our Lightning blog, Raw Charge.
