The Hockey Hall of Fame has selected four more players to join its ranks. Joe Nieuwendyk, Mark Howe, Doug Gilmour and Ed Belfour are 2011’s inductees.
Mark Howe Thanks Dad Gordie In Hockey Hall Of Fame Induction Speech
Mark Howe played 16 NHL seasons, and even after a Hall of Fame-caliber career, he could never completely erase the shadow of Mr. Hockey, his father Gordie. That’s more a credit to the unbelievable hockey player his father was, not a discredit to his own career, but it goes to show just how much of an influence coming from a hockey family can have.

The Hockey Hall of Fame has four new members this Monday morning, as Mark Howe, Ed Belfour, Joe Nieuwendyk and Doug Gilmour each received jackets and rings commemorating the occasion. The four will be inducted in a ceremony on Monday evening, which will be broadcast at 7:30 p.m. ET on NHL Network and TSN.
Over the weekend, Leafs fans at Pension Plan Puppets shared their favorite Gilmour stories. A small forward who overcame his tiny stature, Gilmour ultimately wound up scoring more than 1,400 points in 20 NHL seasons.

Mark Howe, Ed Belfour, Doug Gilmour and Joe Nieuwendyk were all inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Tuesday as its 2011 Class. The honorees will be formally inducted on November 14 in Toronto.
Two other players who got shutout were Pavel Bure and Adam Oates. Flames blog Matchsticks and Gasoline can understand why these two recognizable names remain on the outside looking in.

The Hockey Hall of Fame on Tuesday inducted four more members to its list of heroes as part of the 2011 class. Mark Howe, Ed Belfour, Doug Gilmour and Joe Nieuwendyk will all join the Hall in the players category, as decided by the 18-member Selection Committee.
The honorees will be formally inducted on November 14 in Toronto. We don’t know which players were voted in by which members, as the ballots aren’t publicly announced as in other sports.
