Chris Drury Retires From NHL After 12 Seasons
Chris Drury announced his retirement Friday, ending a 12-year career. He had the final year of his contract bought out by the Rangers at the end of June amidst injury conerns. Drury appeared in just 24 games last season, notching one goal and five points total.
The Rangers were able to carve out a little cap space by buying out the three-year captain’s contract for $3.3 million. Drury has yet to release a statement on his retirement, however he called it a “great honor and privilege to be a New York Ranger these past four years” upon being bought out.
