We know that the game will be played between the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. Winter Classic Jerseys For Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers Could Be Unveiled Monday
We know... basically everything. But what could inject some excitement into Monday’s press event at the ballpark? Jerseys, of course, and it’s expected that the NHL will unveil the jerseys that are to be worn by each club in the fourth-annual outdoor game.
We don’t have many clues on what the teams could wear. The Rangers have a rather extensive catalog of sweaters from their history that they could pop out for a return, while the Flyers have turned their jerseys from the 2010 Winter Classic into their everyday uniforms.
Philadelphia doesn't have many other sweaters they can choose from, so it's possible we could see the creation of a new uniform like the Boston Bruins threw together for the 2010 game. It's already known that the Rangers will employ the logo used back in the 1930's for the game, but the jerseys worn by the team there look almost identical to the ones they wear now.
There’s a lot of speculation out there about this jersey news, and if the NHL wants Monday’s announcement to carry any sort of excitement, they’ll end all of that speculation once and for all.
