Sharks Vs. Oilers: Devan Dubnyk Makes 45 Saves To Help Edmonton Beat San Jose

The Oilers finally get a win via the shootout, thanks to Taylor Hall. The Sharks, however, earn a point and remain in first place in the Pacific Division.

Edmonton is 3-8-1 in the month of January, their third victory thanks to a 2-1 shootout victory against the San Jose Sharks. Taylor Hall scored the game-winning shootout goal, despite the barrage from the road team.

Out of the Sharks 45 shots, only Joe Thornton and Andrew Murray did not register a shot the entire game. But Devan Dunbnyk stopped 44 of those shots, putting on a strong performance for his Oilers and giving them a chance to win a game after losing three in a row.

It was all about the class of 2010 in Monday's game, as Jordan Eberle took the lead for Edmonton in the first period, but Logan Couture handled San Jose's business for regulation. The shootout had to go one extra round before the Oilers got the upper hand, thanks to Taylor Hall's second game back to the lineup after being cut in the face with a skate in warm-ups a few games ago.

The win for Edmonton ends a three-game losing streak, as the Sharks are on now a three-game winless streak. San Jose remains in first place in the Pacific division over the L.A. Kings, despite being tied with 58 points.
