Red Wings Vs. Blackhawks: Chicago’s Struggles Continue In 3-2 Loss

Things seemed to be turning around Sunday when Chicago jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period. Yet, that lead didn’t hold up as Detroit mounted a comeback in a 3-2 overtime victory.
The Blackhawks outshot the Red Wings 20-15 in the final 40 minutes, but could not score again. Yet, Daniel Cleary was able to tie the game at 2-2 with less than five minutes left to send the game to overtime.
To make matters worse, Pavel Datsyuk's game-winning goal ricocheted off Nick Leddy from a tight angle and past Corey Crawford after he made two point-blank saves to seal Detroit's victory.
Chicago and Detroit are now tied with 53 points, but the latter now has the lead in the Central Divisions. Blackhawks down.
