Six NHL players will be in action on Thursday in KHL action out in Russia. The first game between Sibir and Salavat Yulaev has no current NHL players to speak of, but later games, such as Donbass vs. Traktor, which leads the Eastern Division of the KHL, will include players such as Philadelphia Flyers wing Ruslan Fedotenko and Winnipeg Jets wing Alexei Ponikarovsky, who both play for Donbass.

The last game of the day pits HC Lev Praha and CSKA Moscow. Flyers wing Jakub Voracek plays for Lev Praha, while Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk, Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov and Toronto Maple Leafs center Mikhail Grabovski all play for CSKA.
In the KHL standings, while Traktor leads the Eastern Division ahead of Avangard, Dynamo Moscow, with Washington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin, lead the Western Division ahead of Lokomotiv.
