The NHL has yet to schedule an announcement regarding the cancellation of regular-season games, according to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. That, of course, is subject to change, but as of mid-day Wednesday the league has not scheduled any announcements.
NHL won’t cancel regular season games -- yet
The NHL has yet to schedule an announcement regarding the cancellation of regular season games.

On Monday afternoon, Howard Berger reported that the league was likely to begin canceling games as collective bargaining negotiations have yet to make any progress. With the preseason already cancelled and the regular season set to begin on Oct. 11, time is becoming an issue. Even if the two sides quickly resolved the dispute, players would need time to travel to their respective cities and would require time to train for the season.
However, the two sides have been unable to find equal footing in discussions and remain far apart on several key issues, most notably core economics and defining hockey-related revenue. NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly stated that he wasn’t encouraged by the most recent round of negotiations.
