The next cancellation would would likely be for the remainder of the season, according to the report.
The NHL has already canceled all games through the end of November, as the league and the NHLPA continue to work towards an agreement for a new CBA. The two sides met for four days last week before talks fell apart on Thursday and Friday, with owners and players reportedly engaging in a heated exchange across the table as talks ended on Friday.
There are multiple points of contention between the two sides, the most important of which is the division of Hockey Related Revenue between the players and the owners. The two sides have come to an agreement on how to reach a 50-50 share, although now there is a dispute over player contract rights and the amount of money to be spent by the owners to ensure players receive the full value of current contracts.
