There's a rule in the ECHL that limits the number of veterans on a team's game night roster. With Scott Gomez, Brandon Dubinsky, Joey Crabb and Nate Thompson all playing for the Alaska Aces during the lockout, that means ECHL veterans are being forced out of the lineup by locked out NHLers.
Scott Gomez is going to make an ECHL veteran throw up
Sort of indirectly, I guess.

And when you’re not in the lineup, you have to bag skate after practice to stay in shape. Take the situation of Aces forward Matt Robinson, a low-minor league veteran and bonafide ECHL goal scorer
The Aces’ surplus of veterans and the ECHL’s limit on the number of veterans who can play in a game have cast Robinson as the odd-man out of the lineup. He has played in four of the club’s 13 matches. He is trying to be patient, and hopes circumstances change.

“The bag skating is kind of a downer,” Robinson said. “[Coaches Scott Burt and Louis Mass] are finding innovative ways to make me almost throw up.”
Robinson told the paper he’s thinking of his options, which likely include going to the lower-tier Central Hockey League for playing time.
