With most NHL transactions forbidden during the lockout, the Kings were allowed to give the rehab assignment to Quick as it was deemed a hockey-related injury that occurred prior to the beginning of the lockout on Sept. 15.

Quick, 26, has played for the Monarchs before, participating in 19 games with the team in the 2007-08 season and 14 during the 2008-09 season before taking over as the full-time goaltender for the Kings. He has not played for the Monarchs since and will reportedly not participate in games during this particular stint with the team.
