Talks between the NHL and NHLPA are expected to go late into the night on Tuesday, according to Pierre LeBrun of ESPN. The two sides resumed formal negotiations over the collective bargaining agreement on Tuesday at an undisclosed location.

Talks between the NHL and NHLPA are expected to go late into the night on Tuesday.

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly and Steve Fehr of the NHLPA met for several hours on Saturday, Nov. 3 going over into 1 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4. That was the first meeting between the two sides since Oct. 18. Daly is meeting with NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr on Tuesday.
The NHL has been without a collective bargaining agreement since Sept. 15 and several regular season games have already been cancelled. Most recently, the NHL cancelled the Winter Classic between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs, scheduled for Jan. 1, 2013 on Friday.
The main issue remains how to divide up hockey-related revenue, which totaled over $3.3 billion last season.
