Fifteen-year-old hockey phenom Connor McDavid is close to inking a multiyear head-to-toe apparel and equipment endorsement deal with Reebok’s CCM Hockey brand, according to a report from SportsBusiness Journal.

The phenom would become the youngest hockey player ever to endorse Reebok CCM apparel and equipment.

Reebok CCM vice president of global marketing, Glen Thornborough confirmed that the company was in discussions with McDavid and his representative, NHL Hall of Famer Bobby Orr.
“We want to align with the best in the world, and we believe Connor McDavid is in that class,” Thornborough said.
The deal would be the most significant endorsement the apparel and equipment company has made since they signed NHL star Sidney Crosby to a five-year deal in 2005.
McDavid was the No. 1 pick of the Erie Ontario Otters in the Ontario Hockey League draft. He was granted “exceptional player” status by the major junior league, which allowed him to be drafted a year earlier than is normally allowed. He will be eligible for the NHL draft in 2015.
