WJC 2013: Russia announces preliminary camp roster

Team Russia announced the selection camp roster for the 2013 World Junior Championships set to be held in Ufa, Russia on Dec. 26.

Team Russia head coach Mikhail Varnakov officially announced the selection camp roster for the 2013 World Junior Championship on Tuesday afternoon.

The announcement included 31 invitees: three goaltenders, 11 defensemen and 17 forwards. The camp will take place in Novogorsk and will span from Dec. 7 until Dec. 20, when the final roster will be announced. The tournament is scheduled to begin in Ufa on Dec. 26, where the team will open play against Slovakia.

The goaltenders included on the preliminary roster are Andrey Makarov, Igor Ustinski and Andrey Vasilevskiy. The defense corps will consist of Kirill Diyakov, Yaroslav Dyblenko, Pavel Koledov, Andrei Mironov, Mikhail Naumenkov, Nikita Nesterov, Artem Sergeev, Nikita Tryamkin, Alexei Vasilevskiy, Albert Yarullin and Nikita Zadorov.

The forwards invited to the camp are Mikhail Grigorenko, Kirill Kapustin, Alexander Khokhlachev, Yaroslav Kosov, Nikita Kucherov, Yevgeni Mozer, Valeri Nichushkin, Daniil Romantsev, Maxim Shalunov, Anton Shenfeld, Andrei Sigarev, Anton Slepyshev, Vladimir Tkachev, Bogdan Yakimov, Nail Yakupov, Daniil Zharkov and Anton Zlobin.
