The Quebec Labour Board has granted an adjournment request from both the NHL and NHL Players Association on Wednesday, according to Chris Johnston of The Canadian Press.

The NHL and NHL Players Association received an adjournment by the Quebec Labour Board on Wednesday, which will suspend their scheduled meeting on Thursday and Friday. This will allow the two sides to continue CBA negotiations through the week.

The two side were originally scheduled to meet with the labor board on Thursday and Friday but requested the hearing be suspended so that they could continue collective bargaining negotiations through the remainder of the week.
The NHLPA has been attempting to utilize labor boards in order to set precedence that the lockout is an illegal course of action by the NHL. As of this time, the NHLPA has yet to receive a favorable ruling. The NHL has contended that these meetings are a waste of time.
However, the two sides have expressed mutual optimism following Tuesday’s players/owners meetings, which consisted of 18 players meeting with six owners without the presence of either NHL commissioner Gary Bettman or NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr.
The meetings are expected to resume later on Wednesday afternoon and the potential of a new proposal being tabled by the NHLPA has been reported by several outlets.
