Daniel Sedin has a concussion. We suspected that, but now we know it, as Vancouver Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault confirmed the news on Monday afternoon.
Daniel Sedin Injury: Vancouver Canucks Leading Scorer Suffered Concussion, Team Confirms
“As everyone knows, he has a concussion and we’re following the protocol,” Vigneault said. “I’m not going to address this every day. He’s got a concussion and when we have something more to say we’ll say it, but we’re going to follow the protocol and when we have more we’ll share it with you.”
Sedin was hit by Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith last Wednesday, following which the team announced he'd be out for at least two weeks. Now that the suspicion has been confirmed regarding his status, there's no telling how long Sedin could be out of the Vancouver lineup.
Keith, meanwhile, was suspended five games by the NHL for the hit that sidelined Sedin.
