Penguins Vs. Flyers: Sidney Crosby Opens Scoring, Pittsburgh Leads 1-0

Sidney Crosby hasn't been in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for two years. It didn't take him long to get re-acclimated.

Just 3:43 into the first period of Game 1 between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers, Crosby beat defenseman Braydon Coburn to a loose puck in front of the net. Coburn's defensive partner, Nicklas Grossmann, lost the puck in his feet and Crosby slid in front of Coburn to poke the loose puck past goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov. 1-0 Pens.

The goal was the result of several early shifts dominated by the Penguins. Pittsburgh’s fourth line was able to keep Philly hemmed in their own zone for a stretch, and after forcing the Flyers to ice the puck several times, they were able to capitalize on some tired opponents.
