Jonathan Toews will miss his 22nd consecutive Chicago Blackhawks game on Saturday, as he's still dealing with concussion-like symptoms. The Blackhawks were hoping to get Toews back for at least one game prior to the start of the NHL Playoffs, but that won't be the case as he will miss Saturday's matchup with the Detroit Red Wings. Toews told Brian Hedger of NHL.com that he feels he's close to being ready to play.

Chicago Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews has missed more than 20 games as he’s been dealing the concussion symptoms, but hopes to return for the NHL Playoffs.
Q: Are you confident that you might be ready to play by the time the playoffs start?
TOEWS: “I have confidence and a positive outlook that things are going to go the right way and I’ll be ready for next week. I feel like I was very close to being ready to play [Thursday in Minnesota] or [Saturday], but now we’ve got four days or so before our next game, whenever that might be. I’m hoping that’s going to be the difference right there.”
Toews originally suffered the concussion back in February in a game against the San Jose Sharks, but then played the next five games before deciding to shut it down for a while. Toews is Chicago's top center and the team captain, so the hope is he will be ready for the playoffs.
