The Philadelphia Flyers looked nothing like a decent version of themselves over the last two games in Newark, and they're in need of a win on Tuesday night to avoid elimination from the playoffs. The New Jersey Devils have put together three straight excellent performances, and they hold a 3-1 series lead heading into Game 5 in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Flyers are up against elimination without Claude Giroux against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday, but they’re also back at home.

Philadelphia is going to have to figure out how to generate some offense -- something the team has struggled to do over the last three games -- without its leading scorer. Claude Giroux was suspended one game for his hit to the head of Dainius Zubrus in Game 4, and he will serve that suspension on Tuesday night.
While Giroux is certainly Philadelphia's biggest offensive threat, the Flyers haven't done much with him on the ice in the last three games, so perhaps his absence will inspire the other struggling stars to perform better. Danny Briere and James van Riemsdyk, who were excellent in Game 1, have not been great since. Scott Hartnell, a 37-goal scorer who contributes defensively as well, is a minus-5 over the last three games.
