Kings Controlling Play Early Despite Unsuccessful Power Play
Anton Volchenkov's hooking penalty at the 3:01 mark of the first period was the direct result of a lengthy spell of Kings possession in the Devils zone, and prior to the penalty, Los Angeles had attempted five shots on net. In three minutes.
The penalty has been killed, and the Kings seem to be faced with more missed opportunities. That was the story for them in both Games 4 and 5. Can they finally capitalize on some of those chances this evening? If they keep this up, chances are in their favor.
