Steve Bernier Hit Injures Rob Scuderi, Gives Kings Crucial Power Play

Steve Bernier may have critically injured his New Jersey Devils team with this hit early in Game 6. We can only hope he didn't seriously injure Rob Scuderi, too.

It was just a devastating hit that kept Scuderi down for quite some time, and when he got back up, there was blood streaming down his face. Scuderi’s face was drilled right into the end boards. He appears to be fine, aside from perhaps the need for a few stitches.

It’s a five-minute major for the boarding and a game misconduct for Bernier, and who knows, there could be supplemental discipline as well. But that’s the least of anybody’s concerns right now -- the Devils have a five-minute penalty to kill in a game where the Kings attack has been on point.

And before we could even finish this post ... there’s goal number one. Still more than four minutes left on the man advantage, too.
