Jaromir Jagr plans to test NHL free agency this offseason, according to TSN's Darren Dreger. Jagr was reportedly in discussions to re-sign with the Philadelphia Flyers after his one-year contract expired after this past season. The 40-year-old is now opting to see what value he has on an open market.

Jaromir Jagr will test the NHL free agency market this offseason after his one-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers expires. The 40-year-old tallied 19 goals and 35 assists in 73 games played during the 2011-12 regular season.

Jagr is the NHL’s active leader with 1,653 career points. He tallied 54 points (19 goals, 35 assists) during the 2011-12 regular season. The Flyers seemed open to bringing him back for at least another year, and Jagr could still ultimately sign with Philly.
Jagr spent 11 seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins after being drafted No. 5 overall in the 1990 NHL Draft. He has also played with the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers.
